2010 Miracle Children
Each year our Children’s Miracle Network selects miracle children to represent all the children cared for at Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare. The children and families are selected based on referrals from some of our Children’s Miracle Network funded programs throughout the hospital. While we believe every single child we care for is a miracle child, we select only a few for this yearly honor.

Miracle Balloons
The staple fundraising campaign for Children’s Miracle Network is the sale of Miracle Balloons. During a campaign, Miracle Balloons are placed at registers at participating retail establishments. Employees ask every customer to buy a Miracle Balloon for $1 or more, and all donations go Children's Miracle Network at Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare. Paper Miracle Balloons are a fun, simple way to raise funds while sending a message that you care about local children.
Miracle Balloon Fundraisers are also appropriate fundraising opportunities for local schools and/or groups that may be interested in raising funds either internally or through a special fundraising event.
The Miracle Balloon is the most recognizable fundraising icon in North America. More than 60 percent of people recognize the red and yellow paper balloon and nearly 40 percent have purchased one in recent years. Miracle Balloon sales have become the largest, most successful Children's Miracle Network program yet.
Contact Michele Adams at (315) 624-5600 to learn how you can begin a Miracle Balloon Campaign for your business or group.

Your Dollars at Work
When you donate to Children’s Miracle Network at Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare Foundation, you are making a difference to children in your neighborhood. It may be to the new baby across the street who spent time in our Level II Special Care Nursery, the child next door who breaks his leg, your co-worker’s child who just visited our emergency room or even your own child who maybe just needs a well visit.
Real miracles are happening every day here at Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare because of your gifts to our Children’s Miracle Network. Here are some of the ways you are making a difference to local children.
Thanks to you we are able to:
- Offer the area’s only Level II Special Care Nursery staffed 24 hours-a-day, seven days-a-week by neonatologists, physicians who provide special care to sick or premature babies.
- Fund a community education program called Project Kids Care, a mobile pediatric training program designed to provide first responders (paramedics and EMT’s) with continued pediatric training throughout Oneida, Herkimer and Madison Counties.
- Employ a full-time Child Life Specialist who provides a one-on-one relationship with each child and helps them work through their fears of hospitalization and helps make the child’s stay more comfortable.
- Offer an OB Care Center for women with little or no insurance to ensure they have healthy pregnancies.
- Care for all children, regardless of their family’s ability to pay.
