Program Objectives
- Promote participation in professional growth and learning activities.
- Provide experience to develop compassionate/ethical and professional behavior.
- Develop skills including problem solving and critical thinking to achieve competent entry level practitioners in radiologic science.
- Provide patient education and family education regarding preparation, expectations, and post-procedural care, as well as other education related to the types of examinations performed on patients.
- Utilize problem solving, critical thinking, decision-making, and communication skills in the performance of medical imaging procedures.
- Competently perform a full range of radiologic procedures on patients as an entry-level practitioner.
- Practice within the profession's legal and ethical boundaries to meet the health care needs of patients.
- Accept responsibility for continuing the process of professional and personal growth.
These goals and objectives are based on the "Standards for An Accredited Educational Program in Radiologic Sciences" adapted by the American Medical Association (AMA), American College of Radiology (ACR), and the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT).
