Description: 

Carries out activities consisting of network and telecommunications, maintenance / support, device configuration and connectivity preparation to the local area networks (LAN’s) and wide area network (WAN). Carries out activities consisting of systems administration on MS Windows and Unix / Linux platforms and generally, overall systems management across the servers. Develops systems management documentation and procedures and ensures that these processes are followed and audible. Performs daily duties such as back-up restore, and monitoring of systems performance across all servers. Is responsible for collecting statistics and data on performance and utilization for accurate reporting to the Distributed Systems Analyst and Director of Operations.

Qualifications: 
  • AS in Telecommunications, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or related field required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Two - five years applicable experience, with a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in distributed systems center or equivalent environment.
  • CCNA required, CCNP preferred.
  • Must work as a team player and have excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge and experience with Layer 3, IP administration, LAN/WAN, Routing Skills, SNA/DLSW/RSRB, problem determination Frame Relay, ISDN, Disaster Recovery, CISCI Configuration, Capacity Planning, ATM, ability to plan, detailed design, Sniffer, knowledge of TCP/IP, IPX/SPX and SDLC.
