Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare (FSLH) will host a two-day medical camp for teens ages 14 to 17 from the Mohawk Valley on Tuesday, July 24, and Wednesday, July 25, 2012, from 8am to 4pm. MediCamp seeks to show teens how a hospital operates and provides them with the opportunity to explore different departments.
Participants will tour an ambulance and the Emergency, Physical Therapy and Pharmacy Departments. They will also learn how to administer first aid and CPR, as well as trauma assessments, emergency transportation and more.
MediCamp is limited to a maximum of 14 participants.
Registration is $20 per student and includes scrubs, a stethoscope and breakfast and lunch for both days.
All applicants will be required to complete an application form including a brief essay describing their interest in healthcare, as well as a phone interview. Applicants will be notified by email of their acceptance by Monday, July 16, 2012.
The application deadline is Monday, July 9, 2012.
