CNY Diabetes Hosting Free Continuous Education Programs in March
On Wednesday, March 10, 2010, Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare’s (FSLH) Central New York (CNY) Diabetes Education Program will hold a free adult support group titled “Optimizing Control with Your Insulin Pump.” The event will take place at 6pm at the CNY Diabetes Education Program office located on the 4th floor of the Faxton Campus of FSLH, 1676 Sunset Avenue, Utica. This program is for people using insulin pumps with or without sensors and will provide information on how to better manage diabetes with features of the insulin pumps. On Thursday, March 25, 2010, CNY Diabetes Education Program will hold a free adult support group titled “Coaching for Weight Loss.” The event will take place at 6:30 pm at the CNY Diabetes Education Program office located on the 4th floor of the Faxton Campus of FSLH, 1676 Sunset Avenue, Utica. This program will discuss the benefits of using coaching as a tool to reach weight loss goals. Registration is required by calling CNY Diabetes at (315) 624-5620.

On Friday, March 12, 2010, CNY Diabetes will hold a free "Knock Your Socks Off" podiatry clinic for people with diabetes. An area podiatrist will conduct a brief educational seminar followed by a personal foot exam. The event will take place at noon at the CNY Diabetes Education Program office located on the 4th floor of the Faxton Campus of FSLH, 1676 Sunset Avenue, Utica. On Tuesday, March 30, 2010, grocery shop with a registered dietitian and learn about your food choices. This will take place at 10am until noon at Hannaford Grocery Store on Commercial Drive in New Hartford. Registration is required by calling CNY Diabetes at (315) 624-5620.
