On Sunday, May 18, 2014, Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare (FSLH) will host a Senior Sunday: Lunch and Learn Lecture. The topic is “Getting The Best Care Possible When Serious Illness Strikes,” and will be presented by Evelyn Kropp, BPS, RN, CPHQ, Palliative Care navigator at Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare.

Too many people spend the last days of their lives in a way they would never choose. Lack of communication on end-of-life and serious illness preferences is a contributing factor. Kropp will share strategies for talking with your family so your wishes are known.

The lecture will be held at noon in the Soggs Room in St. Luke’s Home at the Center for Rehabilitation and Continuing Care Services, located at 1650 Champlin Avenue, Utica. Seating is limited; reservations are required and can be made by calling 315.624.HOME (4663). A hot lunch will be served. A voluntary donation of $5 per person would be appreciated to supplement the cost of the luncheon.
