On Wednesday, July 2, 2014, Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare (FSLH) will host a free stroke support group presentation at 6pm in the Soggs Room at St. Luke’s Home in the Center for Rehabilitation and Continuing Care Services, 1650 Champlin Avenue, Utica.

The presentation will focus on the adjustments patients face following a stroke and the patience these changes require. Deacon Paul Lehmann, hospital chaplain and director of Mission Services, will lead the discussion on circumstances that are beyond our control and how to draw on spirituality to improve patience and find joy in the small delights and victories in everyday life. He will also provide insights on how to keep your sense of humor and grow through challenging experiences.

FSLH is the area’s only designated Primary Stroke Center and is a recipient of the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s 2013 Get With The Guidelines® Stroke Gold Plus Achievement Award for excellence in the care of stroke patients.
