Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare’s Nursing Scholarship Fund Presented with Check in Memory of Dolores “Dee” Dardano Martellotto
In October, Nicholas A. Martellotto presented a check to Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare’s (FSLH) Nursing Scholarship Fund in loving memory of his wife of more than 65 years, Dolores “Dee” Dardano Martellotto, LPN, who passed away April 16, 2012, at FSLH.
Dee worked as an LPN for more than 20 years at FSLH where she enjoyed providing care to others and made many lasting friendships. Accompanying Mr. Martellotto at the check presentation was her daughter, Susan Martellotto Januszewski, RN, one of Dee’s caregivers, Beth-Ann McConeghy, RN, and Alfred Candido, Sr., a family friend who formed a life-long friendship with Dee while working together at FSLH.
Mr. Martellotto made a donation to the FSLH Nursing Scholarship Fund to honor his wife’s memory and the career she found so rewarding. The FSLH Nursing Scholarship Fund provides five nursing scholarships to qualified FSLH employees who wish to further their career in nursing. The scholarships provide recognition and financial support to assist employees in reaching their career goals and retaining outstanding nurses in our community.
