Kidney Society of the Mohawk Valley, Inc. Donates $10,000 to The Regional Dialysis Center at Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare
In June, the Kidney Society of the Mohawk Valley, Inc. presented a check for $10,000 to The Regional Dialysis Center at Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare (FSLH). The Kidney Society made the donation to support patients receiving dialysis including the purchase of new flat screen TVs to be mounted in each individual dialysis treatment area.
The Regional Dialysis Center is the sole provider of dialysis treatment within a 25 mile service area. There are currently 455 patients at the Center who received more than 71,000 dialysis treatments last year at one of seven facilities located throughout the Mohawk Valley. FSLH is one of the largest hospital-based dialysis programs in the country and is growing to address the unmet needs of the local population.
“We are extremely grateful to the Kidney Society of the Mohawk Valley for making this donation to the Dialysis Center,” said Lila Studnicka, executive director of The Regional Dialysis Center. “Dialysis treatments can be very taxing on the body, so it’s important for our patients to feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible throughout the treatment.”
The FSLH Foundation raises funds throughout the year to benefit programs and services at FSLH. If you are interested in learning how you can make a difference, call the Foundation at 315.624.5600 or visit www.faxtonstlukes.com/foundation.
