On Saturday, November 23, 2013, the After Breast Cancer (ABC) Support Group will meet at 11am at The Regional Cancer Center at the Faxton Campus of Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare (FSLH), 807 Newell Street, Utica. ABC meetings are free and open to the public.
The November meeting topic is "Everything We Need to Know About Breast Imaging," presented by Nancy Shaheen, MD. Dr. Shaheen is a board certified radiologist specializing in breast imaging at FSLH’s Imaging Center. With a fellowship in Women’s Imaging from Yale University, Dr. Shaheen has been helping women in the Mohawk Valley for more than 15 years. She will expertly navigate patients through questions about MRI’s (magnetic resonance breast imaging), benefits of digital mammography, what’s new in breast imaging and more.
The ABC Support Group was created by women who have had breast cancer. The group is dedicated to providing education, information and emotional support to women and men who are facing biopsy, surgery or recovery from breast cancer.
