The Child Passenger Safety Program, sponsored by the New Hartford Police Department, will take place Wednesday, July 9, 2014, from 11am to 2pm at the St. Luke’s Campus of Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare (FSLH), 1656 Champlin Avenue, New Hartford.

The New Hartford Police Department will inspect cars free of charge to ensure car seats are properly installed in the vehicles. If a car seat is found to be unsafe, the New Hartford Police Department will provide a new car seat and properly install it in the vehicle. The car seats are provided at no charge through a New York State grant.

“This event is always very successful and we appreciate the support and involvement from law enforcement in our community,” said Christopher Kilmartin, Security Department manager at FSLH. “It makes a difference in the safety of a child to have the right type of car seat installed properly. This is a tremendous service to the community.”

If you are unable to attend the event and would like to have your car seat inspected, please contact the New Hartford Police Department at (315) 724-7111 to make an appointment.
